Ricardo Baca:

You are listening to The Weedsmith, a show about modern cannabis thought leadership. Today I am thankful to be sitting across from Taylor Blake.
Taylor, what, in your opinion, makes for a good leader? Not in cannabis, but just in general.

Taylor Blake:

In my experience, what makes for a really good leader is someone that you respect and you really want to work for. We’ve all had bosses in our past that we haven’t enjoyed working for, and it makes your motivation less than it would be working for someone that you really respect.
I used to work at a bar in Virginia Beach a long time ago and that was the first boss that I ever had. I wanted to work super-hard because I wanted to please him, you know? And not because he put that pressure on me, but he would be the last one there, he would be the first one there, he would put his heart and soul into stuff.
So it kind of put that mentality to me that I didn’t want to disappoint him. I think that, when you have that respect from your employees, then they’re gonna work super-hard for you, because they really respect you.
